Liz MacCarthy - violin
Liz MacCarthy began her Baroque violin studies at the Birmingham Conservatoire with Micaela Comberti and then at The Royal Academy of Music with Simon Standage. Since graduating from RAM, Liz combines a career of teaching and freelance playing.
She works regularly with a number of period instrument orchestras including The Academy of Ancient Music, The English Concert, The Sixteen, Collegium Musicum 90, St, James's Baroque Players, Ex-Cathedra, Europa Galante and The New Dutch Academy.
Liz is also a member of the Bird string quartet who specialise in music from the "Classical" period and the Dutch based Ensemble Severin with whom she performed at this year's Brezice Festival in Slovenia.
