Joseph McHardy was born in Dundee and studied music at the University of Edinburgh and harpsichord at the Royal Academy of Music, graduating from there with distinction in 2004. His teachers have included Laurence Cummings, Terence Charlston and Carole Cerasi.
Joseph plays regularly with La Serenissima and will begin to play with the Kings Consort in October 2006. He was one of Paul McCreesh's musical assistants in Komische Oper Berlin's production of Handel Alcina, and will return to Berlin on the same capacity in March next year.
